Inground trampoline installation in Monaghan: who does it
We will be straight about this at the start, because it saves confusion later. We deliver trampolines. We do not install them. The digging and fitting for an InGround or FlatGround trampoline is done by an independent installer, a landscaper or a builder, and we can put you in touch with one.
This page explains how that works in County Monaghan, what the installer needs to look at on local ground, and the questions worth asking before you agree to anything. You will not find hole sizes, methods, timings or prices here. Those belong to BERG's manual and to the person who has seen your garden.
What we do
- Help you pick the type, shape and size from your photos and measurements, free of charge.
- Deliver it. In Monaghan and Cavan the pallet comes with Clontibret Transport of Cashel, Castleblayney and is left at the kerbside. Delivery is free on orders over €300. See delivery.
- Pass on the details of an independent installer if you ask for them.
- Keep genuine BERG spare parts.
What the installer does
- Visits and assesses the ground where the trampoline is to go.
- Tells you whether the spot suits an in-ground trampoline at all.
- Quotes you directly. The agreement and the price are between you and them.
- Carries out the groundwork and fitting to BERG's manual for your model.
Why the ground matters so much in Monaghan
County Monaghan is drumlin country. The hills are glacial till, and Monaghan County Council's Landscape Character Assessment says of that till that it "is very dense and water cannot percolate through very easily", with the result that "the land is wet and difficult to drain".
An in-ground trampoline sits over a hollow, so drainage is the first thing to get right. BERG's manual requires "adequate drainage" for rain water and a check that a high ground-water level will not let water collect underneath. Add the slopes that come with drumlins, and you can see why nobody should promise you an in-ground trampoline will work without standing in your garden first.
What an installer should assess
In general terms, these are the things a visit is for. How each is dealt with is for the installer to decide on site.
- Drainage
- Where rain water goes at that spot, and how quickly. BERG requires adequate drainage for an in-ground trampoline.
- Ground water
- Whether the water level in the ground is high enough to leave water collecting under the trampoline. BERG's manual asks for this to be checked.
- Slope
- BERG trampolines go on level ground. On a drumlin site the installer has to say what levelling the spot needs.
- Position
- Whether the place you have in mind leaves BERG's 2 metres clear of fences, trees and other obstacles, and 7 metres clear overhead.
- Access
- How they would get to the spot, and what that means for the lawn, gates and paths on the way.
If the verdict is that the ground will not drain well enough, take it seriously. An above-ground trampoline needs no digging and suits ground that an in-ground model does not.
The order to do things in
- Settle the type: on legs, InGround with a low rim, or FlatGround flush with the lawn.
- Mark out where it would go and measure the level ground there.
- For an InGround or FlatGround, get an installer, landscaper or builder to look at that spot before you buy.
- Agree with them which exact BERG model they are fitting. We will confirm the model name for you.
- Find out when they can do the work, so the delivery can be timed to suit.
The free garden consultation helps with the first two. Already have a landscaper or builder on the job? Tell us, and we will make sure they have the right model name to look up in BERG's manual.
What to ask an installer
- Have you put in a BERG InGround or FlatGround before, and can I see one you did?
- Will you visit and look at the ground before giving a price?
- What is your view of the drainage at this spot, and what are you basing it on?
- Is the ground water likely to be a problem here in a wet winter?
- Does the site need levelling first, and is that in your price?
- Are you working from BERG's manual for this exact model?
- Where does the dug-out soil go?
- What is included in the quote, and what would cost extra?
- What state will the lawn and the way in be left in?
- Should the trampoline be delivered before you start?
Trampolines on legs
An above-ground trampoline has no groundwork, provided the spot is level. It is assembled from the BERG manual supplied with it. We do not assemble trampolines either, but if you would like someone to do it, ask us for an independent installer's details.

Frequently Asked Questions
Does Monaghan Trampolines install trampolines?+
No. Monaghan Trampolines is run by Trampolines Ireland, and we supply and deliver BERG trampolines. We do not install or assemble them. If you want an installer, ask and we will put you in touch with an independent one, who quotes you directly.
Who installs an inground trampoline in Monaghan?+
An independent installer, a landscaper or a builder. Whoever it is should see your garden first, give you their own price and follow BERG's manual for the model you are buying.
What does it cost to have an inground trampoline installed?+
We cannot tell you, because we do not do the work and no two gardens are the same. The price comes from the installer after a visit. It is separate from the price of the trampoline.
Is Monaghan ground suitable for an inground trampoline?+
Some of it is and some is not. Monaghan County Council's Landscape Character Assessment describes the county's glacial till as very dense and the land as wet and difficult to drain. BERG requires adequate drainage and a check of the ground-water level. That is why the installer has to judge your own ground before you order.
Will you send me the hole dimensions?+
No. We do not issue drawings or measurements of our own. BERG's manual for your model gives what is required, and the installer works from it and from what they find in your garden.
Do I need an installer for a trampoline on legs?+
There is no groundwork with an above-ground trampoline. It is put together following the BERG manual in the box. If you would prefer someone else to do it, we can pass on an independent installer's details.
Not sure your ground suits an in-ground trampoline?
Send us a couple of photos and rough measurements. We will recommend a type and size, give you a delivered price and, if you want one, put you in touch with an independent installer. It is free and there is no obligation.
