BERG PlayBase climbing frames in Monaghan

A PlayBase is a steel frame with monkey-bar rungs along the top and carabiner points beneath them. What hangs from those points is up to you: swings today, a climbing net next year, a pull-up bar when the children are teenagers.

BERG makes it in four sizes, in Black or Green, and prices start at €999. You can order a bare frame and pick accessories yourself, or take a set with the accessories already chosen. We deliver free across Monaghan and Cavan, and ordering is done on TrampolinesIreland.com through the links on each product.

Width is what changes from frame to frame. Every one of them is 1m deep and 2.45m high, is rated for a maximum total load of 400kg, is for ages 3 and up, and is CE marked. BERG gives the frame a 10-year warranty, which becomes 13 years once you register it with them.

On a free-standing frame, each end is finished with a tumble bar or a ladder. BERG sells the Medium and the Large in three versions: TL (a tumble bar one end, a ladder the other, and the usual choice), TT (a tumble bar at both ends) and LL (a ladder at both ends, for monkey-bar style climbing). Each version has its own price, listed on those two pages. Our guide to choosing a PlayBase takes the decision one step at a time.

    Accessories from €29

Nearly every accessory can go on any of the four frames. Three cannot. The hammock is for the Large alone. The platform and slide needs a free-standing frame, so it is not for the Wall. And the climbing net and soccer goal are made in M, L and XL, one size for each free-standing frame.

The names below link to the shop. The whole range is in the PlayBase accessories collection.

    Climbing from €219

Climbing nets are made in M, L and XL, one for each free-standing frame. The platform and slide needs a free-standing frame too.

    Fitness from €49

Meant for teenagers and adults: ages 14 and over.

    Sports from €99

A basketball hoop, and a soccer goal that is a target net sized M, L or XL for the free-standing frames.

    Ground, slopes and walls

The Medium, Large and Extra Large stand on base sections that are anchored in the ground. No concrete goes in. They need a level place to stand, and in drumlin country that is worth checking early: measure the level part of the garden, not the whole lawn.

The Wall is the alternative where there is no level lawn. It must go on a load-bearing brick or block wall. A fence, a timber panel or a hollow partition will not do. BERG's manual sets out the free space each frame needs around it, and we go through that with you in the free garden consultation. Being steel, the frame needs no treating or staining.

    Delivery in Monaghan and Cavan

Every frame and every set is over our €300 free-delivery threshold, so delivery costs nothing. Clontibret Transport of Cashel, Castleblayney brings the boxes on a pallet to the kerbside. You carry them in and keep the pallet. If a frame is in stock it is delivered within 48 hours; if not, allow typically 7 to 10 days. A small accessory order under €300 has an €11.99 delivery charge.

We do not install or assemble. BERG's manual covers assembly, and we can pass you the name of an independent installer who will quote you directly. Details are on the delivery page.

    Frequently Asked Questions

What exactly is the BERG PlayBase?+

It is a climbing frame made of steel, powder-coated over a zinc layer. Monkey-bar rungs run along the top, and swings, climbing pieces and fitness kit clip to carabiner points underneath. You can change what hangs there whenever you like.

Do you deliver the PlayBase in County Monaghan?+

Yes, free of charge. Clontibret Transport of Cashel, Castleblayney delivers in Monaghan and Cavan. The boxes arrive on a pallet at the kerbside, and you move them into the garden and keep the pallet.

Do you put the PlayBase up for us?+

No. We supply and deliver. BERG's manual covers assembly, and if you would like someone to do it for you we can put you in touch with an independent installer, who quotes you directly.

My garden slopes. Can I still have a PlayBase?+

A free-standing frame needs a level place to stand. Much of County Monaghan is drumlin country and sloping gardens are common, so measure the level part of the garden and send us photos. If there is no level lawn, the Wall frame fixes to a load-bearing brick or block wall instead.

From what age can children use it?+

The frames are for children of 3 and up. A baby seat is sold for use from 9 months with an adult pushing, and the fitness accessories are for ages 14 and over.

    What does a PlayBase cost?+

A frame on its own starts at €999. Sets, which bundle a frame with accessories, cost between €1,038 and €2,765. Accessories bought singly start at €29.

Which PlayBase would fit your garden?

Send a few photos and the rough size of the level ground. We will tell you which frame fits and what could hang from it. There is no charge and no obligation.
